Gary Munday

Gary (Mr. Munday) facilitates musical instrument teaching for Roynon (contemporary, samba and music for wellbeing).

He studied at the BRIT school (London) in music and after obtaining a BSc degree with a focus on the sociology of music. Gary went on to obtain Qualified Teacher Status in Winchester. From there, he taught in the Primary Classroom for over 5 years before focusing on his passion for music teaching.

He is the founder and caller of Swan Samba, a fusion drumming and dancing band which have played at Wickham Festival, Ageas Bowl, Hatfair Winchester and Andover Carnival (amongst many others). They’ve also been featured on BBC South Today and nationwide coverage for B&Q’s UK homelessness fundraiser ‘Raise the Roof’.

Gary leads ‘Roynon Creatives CIC’, a set of music and movement programmes to raise progression and enjoyment of music in schools, community organisations, corporate and the wider public.

His original music compositions have been featured on local and national radio and has gigged at hundreds of venues across the South of England. He has also written freelance for various online and printed media in the UK and abroad, including guitar reviews.
