Samba Drumming

Lessons in Samba drumming for all abilities including the opportunity to perform at major festivals and carnivals in the Hampshire area as part of Swan Samba.

There is something very elemental about drumming. Drums are the world’s oldest and most ubiquitous musical instruments, and the basic design has remained virtually unchanged for thousands of years.

A good drumming session is a great way to de-stress after a day at the office. Studies have demonstrated that drumming can have positive impacts on both mental and physical health.

Swan Samba play an energetic mix of Samba music styles, including Samba Reggae, Funk, Maracatu, Ijexa, Ragga and more.

Drum classes take place every Tuesday during term time from 6pm-7.30pm at Swanmore College, Hampshire.

We are a friendly bunch and you are sure of a warm welcome. Tuition is informal and other band members will be on hand to help you quickly get up to speed. Once you become a full member you will have access to a wealth of online drumming material through our band resources website.

Drums will be provided for the first three taster sessions for the main band sessions.
