Roynon with Sir Richard Branson

Roynon Performing Arts have had the absolute priviledge and honour in working with Sir Richard Branson for a number of events, including Virgin’s Big Thanks, Fast Track 100 and his son’s closed wedding celebrations.

Roynon are proud to offer exclusive opportunities such as these to our students. Teachers work hard behind the scenes to ensure that students are given memorable performance opportunities such as these.

We hope to work with Virgin and Sir Richard Branson again soon. But regardless, RPA students across the school have opportunities in which to showcase talent and be a part of something special…

If you’re a parent or student in the school, be sure to express your interest in performing with your RPA teacher and look out for our weekly email updates and posts on socials!

If you are an event organiser, get in touch and find out how our professional, dedicated and talented student base can help your special occasion come to life…

Roynon Whole School Show 2024!

The Whole School Show is the biggest event in the RPA calendar, where all classes of all ages & abilities come together, showcase their skills from class and put the school’s take on a classic story.

We are immensely proud of the classes, exams and festivals we offer as a part of the Roynon Performing Arts. The school has been established since 1981, supporting the community and students in their learning and enjoyment of the arts.

This year, the Whole School Show will come to The Point, Eastleigh on 29th & 30th June. It’s a fantastic time to celebrate and showcase the skills learnt and improved in class. All ages and abilities are invited to be a part of this fantastic and unique experience.

What’s more, profits are donated to our affiliated charity Abby’s Heroes, a local children’s cancer charity that has deep connections with the school.

This year will be the 7th theatre performance for the school, showcasing dance, music and drama from across the school’s 60+ classes.

This will also include an appearance from our very own drumming and movement band, Swan Samba.

Keep an eye out on social media as to when the tickets will be released – they sell up really fast!

Abby’s Heroes cake sale!

We are holding a cake sale on Saturday 2nd December to help raise money for our friends at Abby’s Heroes!

They are running a Big Give project with a goal to raise £11250 in a week so we are running a Bake Sale on Saturday!

Can you help with baking? If so, we would love to hear from you! If Saturday isn’t your normal dance day then you would still be very welcome to join in the fun…

We will have Abby’s Heroes Merchandise available to buy too to make it an extra special morning.

The cakes will be outside the college Hall – if you can bake and would like to donate, please let me know and bring the cakes along on Saturday!

The money raised is hoping to enable the charity to give £100 worth of Tesco vouchers to every family they have supported at the Piam Brown ward in 2023!

P.S Did you know the reasons the charity is so close to our hearts? Miss Charlie is Abbys sister and Miss Sarah and Miss Lucy used to teach Abby. They are such a support to families in need at the most difficult of times.

ISTD Dance Exams (tap, ballet & modern)

We as a school pride ourselves in offering a balance between fun and progression.

Since the school’s formation in 1981, dance exams have played a fundamental part in this, to ensure that students have structure and recognised grading to strive for.

RPA undertake yearly exams for dance, music and drama. For the dance faculty – the longest and most established in the school – we are proud to offer ISTD syllabus and exams. The ISTD is one of the most recognised examinational bodies for dance and so we thoroughly encourage our students of all ages and abilities to undertake these.

Our next round of exams falls near the end of November. A lot of work is carried out behind the scenes for these, from both teacher and student alike. But the end goal is most definitely worth it and a great way to ensure the progression of the dancer.

As always, more details will be sent out in due course via email so parents and carers please make sure you’ve ticked us off as ‘safe’ on your inbox and look out for your child’s timing.

More details on RPA exams and how this and other Roynon work helps support wellbeing can be found here.

Watching Week @ RPA

We’re planning a Watching Week on the w/c 20th November 2023. This is where parents and carers of the student can come and witness what goes on inside the studio, led by our qualified, professional and passionate teachers!

So many parents over the years have found these open weeks to be of use, where they can come into the studio and see what has been learnt and improved upon.

It’s a great opportunity to see what goes on in an average RPA lesson. Students get a real buzz from having an audience – the performing arts are meant to be shared, after all!

More details will follow in subsequent emails from Roynon HQ.

We hope you can make it and join us in celebrating what our lovely school has been up to.

Halloween themed classes

All Roynon classes will have Halloween themed music and content, including some special moves to tie in with this eerie calendar date!

Some classes will be hosting surprise changes for the big, bug-riddled day. This includes teachers dressing up, lighting, effects and more…

Our resident samba band, Swan Samba, will be lighting up their drums especially for their class and all dressing in costume.

…and of course, it’s Spooky Hair Week, meaning that there’s also a competition in place for students to take part in!

There’s bound to be some incredible shots and footage this year, so keep an eye on socials for more!

Join Us for Academic Year 2023-24!
